I like it in my comfort zone where things are familiar and safe. But the problem with that is, it’s quite hard to grow in your comfort zone.
Since having my children I’ve definitely started to creep out of that comfort zone more. I feel like I’ve taken a lot of chances and faced a lot of fears.
I was so anxious the first time I went to babygroup with Rhys, but I did it, and made some wonderful friends as a result.
I was terrified the first time I drove the car to a new place for a photo session, but I did it, and I was so proud of myself afterwards!
I had really cold feet when I was about to hit ‘publish’ on my very first blog post, but I did it, and a over a year later I’m really proud of what I’ve created with this blog.
I’ve been scared of a lot of things over the last 5 years, but I think that’s a good thing. It shows that I’m trying something new, pushing myself, growing.
There’s a quote from How I met your Mother which I love that sums it up quite nicely:
“If you’re not scared, you’re not taking a chance. And if you’re not taking a chance, then what the hell are you doing?”
What about you? Do you relish feeling scared and taking chances?

I am definitely a risk taker because I love challenging myself to face my fears and that’s how I raise my kids but I will say that even though I’ve taken a lot of risks in the past, as a natural introvert, since having kids, especially one who’s extremely extroverted, I have taken more chances and opened up more to others and stepped out of my comfort zone. Having kids definitely changes a person doesn’t it?, LOL! Popping over from #candidcuddles
Having kids really does change you! I love how it made you braver in opening up to others, when you were already a bold risk taker before! x
Lovely quote! I’m not a risk taker myself, I am just happy in my comfort zone but same as you do, since having kids, I tried to take my chances. So they say no guts no glory. Lovely post! #candidcuddles
Having kids does change you doesn’t it, it’s definitely made me bolder! x
Adore this! Yes, gotta keep life fresh (: #candidcuddles
Thank you! Life would be dull wouldn’t it, if we all stayed safe in our comfort zones the whole time. x
I love the quote! I think that, as humans, we all need to push ourselves to take risks. It’s instinctual to do whatever possible to preserve ourselves, to stay safe. And, taking risks is..well, risky. Ha
But I definitely agree-the growth is in the risks! It’s the only way you expand what you’re comfortable with. It’s just that sometimes growth is scary! x #CandidCuddles
Oh growth can be positively terrifying, haha! But I know I need to keep pushing through any fear to get to the good stuff on the other side! x
I love this quote it’s just fab! Really & truly we have to step out of our comfort zones. It’s great you have had so many positive experiences when you took risks. I too was petrified when I let my blog go live! It’s amazing looking back. #candidcuddles
Bet you’re glad you hit ‘publish’ on that first post! You’ve done amazingly this past year! x
I’m the same – not very good at taking risks. I like to play it safe and am not a big fan of change. But every now and then I seem to just act on instinct and it does usually turn out OK – maybe I should do it more! Thanks for linking up with #candidcuddles xx
Things often work out well when we act on our instincts don’t they! It’s definitely worth stepping out of our comfort zone now and then, things can be kind of fun out there! x
Love this its so true – sometimes you’ve just got to take a risk xx
Sometimes you really do just have to take a leap through that fear! x
